SIKESTON, Mo. -- Virginia Whiteside, 81, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in New Madrid County, Mo., daughter of John and Grace Cornie Couch. She and Oren K. Whiteside were married Dec. 26, 1942, at Benton, Mo.

Whiteside had been a self-employed beautician. She was a member of First General Baptist Church at Scott City, and former member of Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sharon Whiteside of the home; two brothers, Jack Couch of Pomona, Calif., and Otis Couch of Jackson, Mich.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston, Mo.
