Archie Fairchild

CAIRO, Ill. -- Archie L. Fairchild, 56, of Cairo died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

He was born May 5, 1948, in Mount Vernon, Ill., son of Archie and Evelyn Clark Fairchild.

Fairchild was manager of Auto Tire and Parts in Wickliffe, Ky. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, Ill., and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; three sons, Ryan Fairchild of Metropolis, Ill., John Fowler of Paducah, Chuck Fowler of Wickliffe; a daughter, Christina Blaydes of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Mary Hiltibidal of McLeansboro, Ill., Paula Harrell of Mount Vernon; a brother, Donald Fairchild of Mount Vernon; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 8 a.m. to noon today.

The funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
