The Cape Area Youth Soccer Association's 17th annual Fall Classic will attract 104 teams to Cape Girardeau this weekend, prompting the event to go to a three-day schedule.

The tournament opens 6:30 tonight at the Shawnee Park Sports Complex. A full day of play is planned for Saturday, and the event's final contests will be played at around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

The recreational event features divisions for coed and girls teams in second grade through junior high as well as a high school division.

Clubs from Sikeston, De Soto, Union County, Farmington, Kennett and squads from Illinois will join teams from Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Perryville in the event.

Games will be played at Central High School in addition to Shawnee Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Tournament organizers are asking spectators to consider alternative parking in the area near the Shawnee Park complex to ease congestion.
