Rosemary Steimle

Rosemary F. Steimle, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph and Frances Job Steimle.

Miss Steimle worked at Saint Francis Hospital 40 years. She began in 1935 as a kitchen worker, then worked in the operating room, and later in X-ray. She then worked as a nurse aide in the obstetrics department, and worked at Central Supply when she retired.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and its Council of Catholic Women.

Rosemary loved gardening, holidays and any celebration that would come her way. She was totally dedicated to her family, especially her dear sister, Louise, who lived with Rosemary all her life. She had a wonderful sense of humor and touched everyone she met with her happiness. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Miss Steimle is survived by two nephews, Joseph and Robert Steimle; seven nieces, Judith Bartnick, Mary Garrison, Barbara Wehner, Suzanne Scherer, Patricia Joyce, Jane Frazier, Regina Steimle; seven great-nephews, Mathew Bartnick, Charles Wehner, James Garrison, Michael Wehner, Daniel and Patrick Joyce, Scott Myers; nine great-nieces, Dawn Hart and Lisa Lacey, Julie Buford, Shannon Owens, Marisa and Jacquline Joyce, Madeline, Molly and Gretchen Steimle; three great-great-nephews; and six great-great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a nephew, John Steimle.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Thomas Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
