Denise Carol Zahner Moraz, 46, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Perryville, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 14, 1958, in St. Louis, daughter of Alfred Gilbert and Rose Marie Tisher.

Moraz was a 1976 graduate of Perryville High School. She graduated from Metro Business College in 1977. Moraz was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Cape Girardeau. She resided at the Monticello House for the past 3 1/2 years.

Survivors include a stepmother, Judith Zahner of Cape Girardeau; a mother, Rose Zieve of Manchester, Mo.; a daughter, Denise Lewis of Colten, Calif.; a son, Michael Moraz, of Garden Grove, Calif.; two stepsons, David Moraz and Robert Moraz, both of Garden Grove, Calif.; a brother, Rick Tisher of Perryville; a sister, Anita Moll of Perryville; and two grandchildren.

Moraz was preceded in death by a father and brother.

There will be no visitation or funeral. Moraz's body will be donated for scientific research into the cure for a rare brain cancer.
