Swept under the rug

IN response to the story "Scott City parents, students complain about bullying in schools": Several years ago there was bullying against our child by parents. The school district did nothing. I hope this situation is not swept under the rug as ours was.

Advocate for Kezer

I think it is ridiculous how the Southeast Missourian has made itself an advocate for Joshua Kezer. For the past year, it has tried to make its stories on the case, which are supposed to be objective, read like a John Grisham novel instead of reporting the facts. Kezer appears to be innocent, but that was no reason for the Missourian to be editorializing on his behalf on the front page.

Failed parties

THE true murderer of the U.S. Constitution and the republic is not the Obama spending bill. That is just a recent domino that has fallen in a long line of dominoes that have been falling for the last 150 years. This was started by the lazy American people and their unwillingness to change from the same two failed political parties that led us to this point.

Penalty for hypocrites

MIKE Jensen is too hard on himself by writing he is a man of "weak principle" because he vehemently opposed the stimulus package but will gladly accept monetary benefits that may come our way. He is merely the consummate metaphor for what we all are: hypocritical. I will grant that since he opposed it so publicly and strongly in print he may be a bit more hypocritical than most, but it just means he's human. The penalty for such blatant hypocrisy should be a mere slap on the wrist in the form of a public pledge to cease and desist from ever again writing a column.

Just wait

JOE Sullivan and those of like mind, prepare yourself. If you are horrified by Stimulus I, what I predict will be Stimulus II will test your mettle more. And, I fear, you may be driven over the edge by (in the not too distant future) Grandson of Stimulus.
