Lynn L. Hey, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Dearing, Kan., son of Roy and Ethel B. (Blanchett) Hey. He and Edna C. Chaney were married Oct. 22, 1938, in Nowata, Okla.

Hey served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 28, 1943, to May 4, 1946, during World War II. He was a member of VFW, American Legion Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Coffeyville, Kan., and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Topeka, Kan.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hey was a plant manager for Sinclair Oil Co. in Missouri and Kansas for 33 years, retiring in 1973. He later worked for Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jeffery Hey of St. Louis and Everett Hey of Jackson; a sister, Genevieve Smith of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
