CLEARWATER, Fla. — Chase Utley went 0-for-2 in his first spring training game, but it didn't prevent the Philadelphia Phillies from beating the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 on Sunday.

Utley, who had hip surgery on Nov. 24, led off and played four innings at second base.

Utley went 2-for-4 and struck out twice in a minor league intrasquad game at Philadelphia's training complex Saturday.

Chan Ho Park, trying to win the fifth spot in Philly's rotation, tossed 4 2/3 shutout innings. He struck out six, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Kyle Lohse pitched five sharp innings for the Cardinals, yielding one run and five hits.
