Ruth Neels

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. -- Ruth M. Neel, 83, of Webster Groves, formerly of Perryville, Mo., died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Ballwin, Mo.

She was born May 9, 1925, at Belgique, Mo., daughter of Leo and Matilda L'Hote Neels.

Neels was an executive secretary for Ralston-Purina Corp. for 25 years, and after her retirement she was a volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation, American Lung Association and Talking Tapes.

Survivors include a sister, Rosalie Mueller of Ballwin, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. The parish wake will be at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery at Belgique.
