James Daugherty

BENTON, Mo. -- James Nelson Daugherty, 38, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at his residence in Benton.

He was born May 22, 1966, in Jacksonville, Fla., son of Geraldine Maloney Wells and James Daugherty Sr. He and Regina Wheatley were married Oct. 30, 1993.

Daugherty was employed as a driver for Cauble and Fields in Cape Girardeau and was a member of O.I.D.A.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffery Michael Daugherty, Bradley James Daugherty, both of Chaffee; a stepson, Jerry Christopher Wheatley of Benton; a step daughter Jessica Blythe Wheatley of Benton; three sisters, Phyllis Green of Fountain Inn, S.C., Jo Anne Harrold of Raceland La., Cherri Lyons of South Williamsport, Penn.; his stepfather, Gerald Wells of Benton.

Friends may call from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Cremation will follow the service.
