What is the school trying to tell the students who happen to be high achievers? Lay back and do as little as you can, because it won't pay off anyway? What kind of reward is that? She earned the right to walk that stage. Not only did she earn it, but she excelled in the right to be there when her classmates celebrate the next step into their futures.

I recommend that the school board reconsider its stance on how important education is at their school. Do they want achievers, or do that want lackeys? Let her have her moment of glory. She earned it.
