John R. Williams, 80, of Gordonville died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 13, 1924, at Crump, son of James F. and Emma Brase Williams. John R. Williams, 80, of Gordonville died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 13, 1924, at Crump, son of James F. and Emma Brase Williams. He and Maggie Hanschen were married Sept. 20, 1947.

Williams was an engineer with Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1989. He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, J.F. "Junior" Williams of Crump; three sisters, Flora Wiseman, Mildred Helderman and Jean Green, all of Crump.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
