Two people were injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 61 in Fruitland.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that at around 6:40 a.m., a 2005 Pontiac driven by Amanda M. Landgraf, 21, of Jackson pulled out of a parking lot at Rhodes 101 and failed to yield to a 2002 Ford driven by Brian W. Lillibridge, 35, of Millersville.

Both drivers were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where they were treated for moderate injuries.

The Ford sustained extensive damage; the Pontiac was totaled.
