Bank of Missouri gets new president

Maurice "Moe" Sandfort is joining the Bank of Missouri as community bank president for the Cape Girardeau banks. He took the reins Jan. 3. Sandfort returns to the Cape Girardeau area from West Plains, Mo., where he served as president and CEO of Community First National Bank. Sandfort met his wife in Cape Girardeau while attending college in the early 1960s. The couple spent eight years in Cape Girardeau before moving to West Plains. He served as president and CEO of Centerre Bank in Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau from 1983 to 1989 and as executive vice president of Boatmen's National Bank in Cape Girardeau from 1989 to 1991.

New radiation therapy supervisor at Southeast

Kathy Neier has joined the staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital as supervisor of radiation therapy. Neier has more than 25 years of experience in radiology and radiation therapy. She holds a bachelor's degree in medical imaging technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls and a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Neier is certified in radiography, mammography and radiation therapy. Her professional memberships include the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Before coming to Cape Girardeau, Neier was a radiation therapist at Providence Everett Medical Center in Everett, Wash., and the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

Prairie Farms announces quality award winners

At a series of district meetings being held throughout January, Prairie Farms, the dairy-farmed owned cooperative based in Carlinville, Ill., will award 344 of its members for meeting or exceeding the company's milk quality standards. Dairy producers in the area that will receive the quality award for 2004 include: Kirchdoerfer Jersey Farm of Cape Girardeau, Patricia and David Schabbing of Cape Girardeau, Schwartz Bros. Dairy in Scott City, Siemers Farms Inc. of Cape Girardeau, Telle Dairy Farm of Perryville, Mo., and Voelker's Brown Swiss of Perryville.

ERA Cape Realty adds new associate to team

ERA Cape Realty recently announced the addition of its newest associate, Steve Cochran, to its team of real estate sales professionals serving consumers in the Cape Girardeau area. Cochran, along with his wife, Linda, has lived in Scott City for the past six years. Cochran will be able to offer homebuyers and sellers a variety of products and services including online listings, home warranty plans, the ERA Sellers Security Plan and more.

Investment rep honored at management forum

Juanita Penfield, the Cape Girardeau investment representative for Edward Jones, was one of 54 representatives honored at a business management forum in St. Louis earlier this month. Penfield was recognized for the "excellent business-management skills she has demonstrated," according to a news release. Penfield also met with other Edward Jones investment representatives to share ideas for increasing office efficiency, improving customer service, increasing investment knowledge and expanding her knowledge in the area of estate planning.
