BENTON, Mo. -- Three Sikeston, Mo., men are in the Scott County Jail for allegedly attempting to rob a Sikeston bank.

Scott County Prosecuting Attorney Paul R. Boyd filed charges Friday afternoon against Don Duran Fletcher Jr., 20, Jonnathan Gray, 19, and Dameon Winston, 17, for allegedly attempting to rob US Bank, 625 N. Main Street. Each is charged with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action. Fletcher also faces an additional charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to Boyd, the men were seen outside of the bank wearing ski masks but drove off from the scene. They were later taken into custody. Two handguns, a 9 mm and a .40 caliber, along with ski masks were found in their vehicle.

As of press time Saturday, all three men remained in the Scott County Jail with $50,000 cash-only bonds for Gray and Fletcher and a cash-only bond of $100,000 for Winston, according to jail officials.
