The Cape Girardeau Fire Department is testing fire hydrants throughout the city today through June 13, according to a news release from the City of Cape Girardeau. During the testing, city water customers may notice a slight discoloration in their water. The discoloration is normal during hydrant testing, and the fire department advises water users to run a stream of water for about one minute if water is discolored. Water users also may notice a slight decrease in pressure for a few minutes while testing takes place.
