Giebler takes first at Amateur qualifier

Cape Girardeau's Brevin Giebler shot a 3-under-par 69 to enjoy a five-shot victory at the Missouri Amateur qualifier at Dalhousie Golf Club on Wednesday.

Cape Girardeau's Blake Driskell shot a 2-over 74 to take second, while Todd Obergoenner, also of Cape Girardeau, was fifth after shooting a 5-over 77.

Cape Girardeau's Kent Phillips and Ben Cantrell tied for seventh (79), while Jackson's Ken Swinford tied for 10th (80).

Richardson, Billings win title

The team of Ryan Richardson and Jo Billings took first place in the championship flight at the Couples Classic golf tournament, held at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Tom and Claudia Horne took first in A flight, Joe and Jennifer McLemore were first in B flight, Craig and Charlotte Arneson finished first in C flight, Allen Hill and Lynda Lorenze were first in D flight and John and Judy Holcomb won the senior flight.
