PATTON, Mo. -- A Marble Hill, Mo., man is dead following a Tuesday morning crash near Patton.

Brandon K. Holzheimer, 28, died from injuries sustained when he ran his 1998 Dodge Stratus off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed the center line and hit a tractor-trailer head on while traveling westbound on Route A, four miles southwest of Patton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 8:16 a.m. Holzheimer was pronounced dead by Bollinger County Coroner Charles Hutchings at 9:20 a.m.

Matthew D. Whitter, 18, of De Soto, Mo., was riding with Holzheimer. He was taken by helicopter to Saint Francis Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.

Robert H. Vance, 34, of Daisy, Mo., was driving the tractor-trailer and was unhurt, the highway patrol said.
