Kathryn Beard

Kathryn W. "Kay" Beard, 60, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 20, 1949, in Menominee, Mich., daughter of William and Elsie Dumke Patz. She and Daniel J. Beard were married Feb. 8, 1969; he passed away April 16, 2004.

Kay was a faithful member of Cape County Cowboy Church of Oak Ridge and the Prayer Posse.

Loving survivors include three sons, Jim (LaDonna) Beard of Scott City, Charlie (Debbie) Beard of Oak Ridge and Travis Beard of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Devon, Emilie, Trenton and Danielle Beard and Dylan Hackler; three brothers; and three sisters.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cowboy Church, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.

Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
