CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- The St. Louis County Health Department says mosquitoes in the region are carrying the West Nile virus, though no human cases have been reported.

Department health director Dr. Dolores Gunn says it's a good reminder that preventative measures are important. She says people should protect themselves with insect repellant and eliminate places with standing water where mosquitoes can breed.
