The Southeast Missourian is seeking nominations for its annual Spirit of America Award. The award goes to the person who exemplifies the character and community service that helps shape America. Civic clubs and other organizations such as sports leagues and school groups can nominate someone for the award.

The organization that nominates the winner will receive a $1,000 donation from the Southeast Missourian.

The Southeast Missourian has sponsored the Spirit of America Award since 2003.

To nominate an individual, visit semissourian.com/forms/spirit or look inside the newspaper for entry forms to mail in. The deadline for nominations has been extended to Wednesday.

The award will be given out the weekend of July 4 at a ceremony in Arena Park.
