The accident happened Saturday during a sprint car race at St. Francois County Raceway, about 70 miles southwest of St. Louis. A race car driven by Tommy Worley Jr. collided with another car, causing Worley's car to jump off the track and become airborne, landing beyond two fences near a parking lot.

Frank was reportedly a pit crew member for another driver.

The Park Hills Daily Journal reports that another man, Lonnie Longman of Jackson, was also critically injured. Worley was treated at a hospital for a concussion, and released.
