Wanda Kretchmar

Wanda Hunter Kretchmar, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of St. Louis and Sun City, Ariz., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Morgantown, W.Va., daughter of Erwin G. and Ethel Collins Hunter. She and Harold H. Kretchmar were married Aug. 24, 1940.

Mrs. Kretchmar was a devoted mother and homemaker.

Survivors include a son, David Kretchmar and wife Karen of St. Louis; two daughters, Lynn Goode of St. Louis, Dale Humphries and husband Bill of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Kelley and Sarah Kretchmar of St. Louis; and two grandsons, Ryan and Brent Humphries of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at La Croix United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Watts will officiate. Interment will be in National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice.

St. Louis Cremation was in charge of arrangements.
