SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Vera Elizabeth Foster, 90, of Springfield died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.
She was born April 13, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of William and Alena Goust Ussery. She was raised in Cape Girardeau.
She and Ryburn Foster were married. He preceded her in death.
Vera was a member of Southside Christian Church in Springfield.
She owned and operated Vera's Beauty Shop for 40 years in St. Louis. In 1990 she moved to Springfield from St. Louis.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirleen Snyder of Springfield, AlLena Roch of Kingwood, Texas, and Gayle Foster of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery.
