Scott City junior Skylar Cobb was the lone local player named to the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association's academic all-state team.

A player had to maintain at least a 3.4 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, score at least a 24 on the ACT and play in 16 or more games during the season to be eligible.

Cobb started in center field for the Rams when he wasn't pitching. He went 3-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings pitched.

Cobb also made his presence felt at the plate. He batted .394 with six doubles, 15 RBIs, eight stolen bases and 16 runs scored. He boasted a .500 on-base percentage and walked 10 times.
