Dr. Donald Dean Myers, 69, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009.

Don was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Oak Ridge, to Paul and Hester Frissell Myers.

He earned bachelor and master degrees in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1961 and 1964. He also held a master's degree in business administration and a law degree from St. Louis University.

Don was deeply committed to his family and friends, colleagues, students, Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers at Missouri S&T, his church community at First United Methodist Church in Rolla, and fellow Rotarians, among others he loved along the way.

Don's purposeful life will continue to inspire his family, including three children, son John and wife Brandi, and grandson Cooper of Ballwin, Mo.; daughters Peachy of Washington, D.C., and Suzy and husband Scott Jackson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Gene Myers and wife Jeanie of Eureka, Mo., Dale Myers and wife Judy of Oak Ridge, William Myers and wife Greta of Willow Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Robinson and husband Harold of Jackson, Ruth Barks and husband Larry of Jackson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless friends and colleagues.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Timothy R. Lee as celebrant. A graveside service will follow at Old Goshen Cemetery in Oak Ridge.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hester Myers Scholarship Fund or Old Goshen Cemetery in Oak Ridge.

Arrangements are under the direction of Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
