February 4-6 Skyline/KGMO Annual Sports Show at the Show Me Center Fri., Feb. 4 from 5-9 pm, Sat., Feb. 5 from 9 am - 8 pm. Sun., Feb. 6 from 10 am - 5 pm. $3 at door and kids 12 and under free. For more information contact the Show Me Center at (573) 651-5000.

February 8 7th Annual Co-ed Volleyball Tournament Check-in at 9 a.m. and play begins at 10 a.m. at the Osage Community Centre. Entry fee is $50 per team. February 9 Can You See Clearly Now? Advertising Images in Black and White: Discussion about current images found in television advertising and how they can provoke or prevent cultural change. February 14 7th Annual Valentine Dinner Dance KRCU and the Regional Heart Center at Southeast Missouri Hospital are sponsoring the dinner and dance at the at A.C. Brase Arena. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., and dance from 7:30 - 10:30 pm Jerry Ford's Orchestra will provide the music. Tickets are $40 each and must be purchased by Feb. 8. February 15 African-American Genealogy Program The Cape Girardeau Public Library invites those interested in tracing African-American history and ancestry to attend "Beginner's African-American Genealogy" presented by Zoia Martin. February 15 "An Afternoon in Italy!" This is the third concert in the "Sundays at Three" music series. February 18 River City Players Present the comedy by Sam Bobrick and Ron Clark "Murder at the Howard Johnson's" The comedy/farce begins with a plot by a woman and her lover to murder the unsuspecting husband, but it ends up as a love triangle gone wrong. February 19-21 Full Tilt 2004 SEMO University will present their annual dance showcase. The performances are a collaboration between the three performing art disciplines - theatre, music, and dance. February 26 The Traveling Acoustic Open Mic Grace Cafe welcomes acoustic performances of all kinds. February 27 Faculty Guitar Recital Jeffrey Noonan will perform the solo lute music of the English composer, John Dowland. Noonan also specializes in Renaissance and Baroque music. February 27 International Space Station Trailers Exhibit SEMO University's NASA Educator Resource Center will be in exhibit at the Schnucks Supermarket parking lot. The exhibit provides information on human space exploration and its benefits, and provides a glimpse of life and work aboard an international orbiting laboratory.

February 28 American Cancer Society Annual Gala "An Evening in Venice" Celebrations will cater the event at the Bavarian Halle in Jackson. Tickets are $150 per couple. Please contact the American Cancer Society at (573) 334-9197 to make a donation or to purchase tickets.

February 28 Poetry Coffee House The Cape Girardeau Public Library Poetry Coffee House will focus on African-American poetry and poets during this month's meeting. Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Paul Dunbar, Gwendolyn Brooks, Nikki Giovanni, Robert Hayden and Amiri Baraka are some of the poets that will be discussed.
