Virginia Lee Dunklin LaMarr, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Campbell, Mo., daughter of Lena M. Atteberry Dunklin and Albert Beach Dunklin. She was raised in Hayti, Mo., then moved to Cape Girardeau.

She and John W. LaMarr were married Dec. 19, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. They owned and operated the Inland Shoe Co. in Advance, Mo., for many years. He preceded her in death March 3, 1989.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Chapter BI, PEO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Maurice T. Dunklin.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty O. Dunklin of Cape Girardeau; three nieces, Judy (Leo) Hoeh of Atlanta, Jane (Joe) Stahly of Cape Girardeau and Susan (Scott) King of Independence, Mo.; seven great-nieces and -nephews, Chris (Annette) Hoeh of Atlanta, Alison (Michael) Baringer of Washington, D.C., Jodi Stahly, Jon (Amanda) Stahly of Cape Girardeau, Jamie Stahly of Nashville, Tenn., Ryan King of San Francisco and Andrew King of Independence; and a great-great-niece, Lily Stahly of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

A private graveside service for family only will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Centenary United Methodist Church.
