CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Marguerite Love, 91, of Charleston, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at her residence in Charleston.

She was born March 27, 1913, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Stephen and Louise Dean. She and Charles Love were married March 27, 1937, and he died Nov. 21, 1970.

Love was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. She was also involved with the American Cancer Society, the Southern Foundation, the Mississippi County Historical Society, Charleston's Dogwood Azalea Festival and the Mississippi County Democratic Party. In 1989, she was named Charleston's Woman of the Year. She also ran the family farm corporation following her husband's death.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Dean Glass Jr., of Charleston; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be immediately following the visitation. Monsignor Richard Rowling will officiate.

Private graveside rites will be conducted by Monsignor Stephen Schneider Thursday at the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston. McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
