On the battlefield

Some members of Congress who have children serving in Iraq:

* Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo.: His son, Perry B. Akin, 24, is a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps currently serving in Iraq.

* Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo.: His son, Samuel Bond, 24, is a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps currently serving in Iraq.

* Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.: His son, Duncan D. Hunter, 28, is a lieutenant in the Marines and recently returned from his second tour in Iraq.

* Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D.: His son, Brooks, 32, is currently an Army recruiter in Dixon, Ill. Brooks served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghani-stan and Iraq between 1998 and 2003.

* Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C.: His son, Alan, 31, served in Iraq from February 2004 to February 2005 with the 3rd Division of the 178th Field Artillery Unit of the South Carolina Army National Guard.
