Disabled girl could use educational toys; elderly woman needs clothing

Seven-year-old Kim is disabled. Her mother is single. Kim could really use toys that would help her learn, such as Leap Frog and Leap Pads. Toys that light up and make noise would help the most. Educational toys that teach how to lace shoes and those that work with shapes and colors would also help this special little girl this Christmas.

Help Toybox this year and give joy to these children by bringing new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian at 301 Broadway. Most-requested items include learning toys, Barbie dolls, Transformers, board games and Hannah Montana, Dora the Explorer and Spider-Man items.

Ms. D is 86 years old and lives alone in a senior apartment. She has no family and has several health conditions that make it hard for her to get out of her apartment. She could use nice house shoes, size 11, sheets and a comforter for her twin-size bed. A gift card to Broadway Medical would help her purchase her medications. She could also use a hat, scarf and gloves.

You can help Ms. D and other needy elderly people in our area by buying these needed items, including grocery gift cards and personal grooming and cleaning supplies and delivering them to the Southeast Missourian, 301 Broadway. All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any, family members. They would greatly appreciate your sharing spirit.
