A Cape Girardeau man now faces up to a year in county jail after he was found guilty this week of stalking an employee at a local restaurant. Judge Scott Thomsen found 52-year-old Kenneth Baublitz guilty Tuesday on one misdemeanor count of stalking. The 39-year-old victim testified that Baublitz was a frequent customer at White Castle, visiting every night and leaving love letters on her car. The woman eventually reported him to police when he followed her home from Cape Girardeau to Farmington, Mo., one night. Baublitz denied following her or making threatening comments towards her at the restaurant. The judge will sentence him Jan. 12 in Jackson.
