Carlos Brown

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Carlos L. Brown, 89, of rural Jonesboro died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Union County near Reynoldsville, Ill., son of Oscar and Augusta Grabow Brown. Carlos married Muerial Miller on July 18, 1948, in Ware, Ill.

Carlos was a member of Ware United Methodist Church, Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association, Farm Bureau and Soil and Water Conservation District. He owned and operated Brown's Hunting Club in Ware many years.

Survivors include his wife, Muerial, of Jonesboro; a sister, Jean (Howard "Bud") Davie of Jonesboro; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Williams of Lewistown, Ill., Delores (Lewis) Hickom of Cartersville, Ga.; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell B. Brown.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to service time today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephanie Voss officiating.

Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday for the committal service.

Following the wishes of Carlos and his family, everyone attending the service is invited to dress in hunting apparel or casual, comfortable clothing.

The preferred method of remembrance is memorials to Jesus es el Senor Methodist Church in Cobden, Ill., and envelopes are available at the funeral home.
