High school roundup: Hogan leads Rams to Chaffee Invite title game

Katie Hogan recorded a triple double to lead Scott City past Oran 53-38 at the Chaffee Invitational girls basketball tournament Wednesday.

Hogan netted 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots to help the Rams reach the title game. Stephanie Essner scored 19 points with six rebounds, while Ashley Brant finished with eight points and eight rebounds.

Melanie Lacey added eight points and six rebounds for the Rams (3-1).

The Eagles were led by Cheyanne King with 10 points.

Kelly advanced to the semifinals with a 47-45 victory against Woodland.

Kristen Powell scored 12 points and Londyn Backfisch added 11 for the Hawks. They will face Delta at 7:30 p.m. today.

Taylor Steckman paced the Cardinals with nine points.

Chaffee fell in consolation bracket play. The Red Devils lost to East Prairie 73-28 despite eight points from Hannah Bedwell.
