Kelly improved to 5-1 as it posted a 58-21 home victory Saturday against Malden in girls high school basketball action.

Kelly's Londyn Backfisch led all scorers with 15 points. Samantha Fisher added eight points.

Mitch Woods recorded a career-high 21 points to lead the Eagles to a road victory.

Josh DaVault and Dillon Gaines each added 16 points, while Trent Jones netted 15.

The Eagles improved to 10-1 with the win.

The Tigers (4-2) outscored the Knights 37-14 over the final two quarters after they led just 37-31 at the break.

James Lane paced Central with 23 points and Kevin Casasola had 18. Blake Ozbun and Andrew Williams added 10 each.

Lindbergh Invitational

Notre Dame placed 11th and Central finished 12th in the 13-team Lindbergh Invitational.

Notre Dame collected 32 points, while Central finished with 28. MICDS won the event.

Chleo LeGrand turned in Central's highest finish, placing seventh in diving with 263.30 points.
