FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Junior "Lon" Bishop, 86, of Fredericktown died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Mo. He was born April 18, 1918, at Fredericktown, son of Clarence Alvin and Jessie Jane Hafner Bishop. He and Adelaide Mantz were married in 1939. She died Oct. 15, 1991...

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Junior "Lon" Bishop, 86, of Fredericktown died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Mo.

He was born April 18, 1918, at Fredericktown, son of Clarence Alvin and Jessie Jane Hafner Bishop. He and Adelaide Mantz were married in 1939. She died Oct. 15, 1991.

Bishop served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 113 in Farmington, Modern Day Chapter 146 in Fredericktown and American Legion Post 238.

Survivors include a son, Clarence Bishop of Bonne Terre; two sisters, Vivian Lange of Cape Girardeau, Charlotte Sue Windeknecht of Mountain Home, Ark.; his fiancee, Dorothy Bunch of Park Hills, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Randy Sawyer officiating.

Burial will be at noon Monday in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery at Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Lucien Bozarth officiating.
