METROPOLIS, Ill. -- What better place for a comic book show than the home of comic book hero Superman?

Metropolis will host a comic book and toy show in March at the Riverfront Event Center.

Metropolis is the fictional home of Clark Kent in the Superman series. The Illinois city boasts a giant statue of the blue-suited hero.

The comic book show is being produced by a Tennessee comic shop owner.

Among the scheduled guests is actor Mark Goddard, who played Maj. Don West in the 1960s TV series "Lost in Space."

Artists, actors and sci-fi aficionados are also expected.

Everyone who attends the show will get a free poster and will be eligible for door prizes.

The show is set for March 6 and 7, with a costume contest on the first day.
