LAMBERT, Mo. - A crash on Highway 77 left a five-year-old Blodgett, Mo., girl in serious condition Saturday.

The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the Interstate 55 interchange. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 1993 Oldsmobile driven by Scott W. Beetley, 41, of Sikeston, Mo., was making a left turn in front of a 2005 Suzuki driven by Sharon S. Roland, 51, of Blodgett.

Two passengers in the Suzuki - both from Blodgett - were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Kassie Roland, 5, was treated for serious injuries while Christine Rice, 77, was treated for minor injuries. Beetley was taken by private vehicle to Saint Francis Medical Center, where he received treatment for moderate injuries.

Roland and Rice both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident while Beetley was not, the highway patrol said.
