Delta will get a chance to win its own tournament.

The Bobcats held on to defeat Meadow Heights 54-50 on Wednesday to advance to the title game in their own New Year's girls basketball tournament.

Senior Taylor Smith led the charge with 14 points, while freshman Machela VanGennip added 13. Kendra Burnett and Tori Burton chipped in 10 points apiece.

The Bobcats jumped out to a nine-point lead after one quarter and held on.

Gina Cureton led the Panthers with 11 points.

Delta will face St. Vincent in Friday's title game. The Indians defeated Oran 53-34 behind 13 points from Chelsie Boxdorfer. Kali Wingerter added 12, while Courtney Heberlie and Kayla Seabaugh scored 10 points apiece.

In consolation action, Chaffee picked up its first victory of the season with a 52-43 victory over Valle Catholic.

Anna Ayers and Hannah Bedwell both scored 18 points to lead the Red Devils (1-7).
