SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two 18 year olds were arrested Friday at the Sikeston Field House after being disorderly and fighting in the stands during a high school basketball game, police said.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is withholding the names of the teenagers until formal charges are filed.

According to Sgt. Jim McMillen, the school's public safety officers responded to the bleachers when fans became agitated and were yelling profanities. Officers arrested the first teenager after he continued to be disorderly. The man resisted arrest, McMillen said, until the two officers were able to handcuff him.

As officers were removing the man from the scene, a second disturbance erupted in the bleachers. The second individual resisted arrest by pulling away from the officer, causing himself and the officer to fall down the bleachers onto the gymnasium floor. Neither was seriously injured.

Both teens remain in custody at Department of Public Safety Headquarters pending charges from the Scott County prosecutor.
