Joseph Lampe

BENTON, Mo. -- Joseph John Lampe, 72, of Benton died Monday, April 11, 2005, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Glennonville, Mo., son of Clemens Mathias and Regina Sophie Peters Lampe. He and Dorothy Ann Radin were married Nov. 5, 1955, in Wilhelmina, Mo.

Lampe was a boilermaker. He was a member of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Union Local 27 in St. Louis, VFW Post 6407 in Scott City, and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo.

He had lived at Benton 25 years.

Lampe served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark Lampe of Jackson, Alan Lampe of Benton; two daughters, Jennifer Kern of New Hamburg, Mo., Karen Ressel of Scott City; two brothers, Tony Lampe of Black, Mo., Clemens Lampe of Arnold, Mo.; six sisters, Johanna Ronspiez of Rockport, Texas, Marie Radin of Festus, Mo., Eulalie Siebert of Glennonville, Veronica Underwood of Springfield, Mo., Rose Jackson of Warrenton, Mo., Gesina Rotter of DeSoto, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
