The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that around 3 a.m. a 2003 Oldsmobile driven by Ethan M. Ruch, 17, was traveling on Highway 72 , .1 miles west of Highway 34, when it ran off the roadway. The car then overturned, ejecting the driver.

Ruch - who was not wearing his seat belt - was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment. The Oldsmobile was totaled.
