All of the area high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Dustin Hubler recorded his second consecutive double-double as host Meadow Heights held off Zalma 88-84 on Tuesday in boys high school basketball action.

Meadow Heights led 35-29 at halftime, and then held on in a high-scoring second half in which Zalma held a 55-52 scoring advantage.

Hubler finished with 31 points for the Panthers (10-5). Adam Walker added 19 points and Calen Buerck netted 16.

Justin Stotts scored a game-high 36 points for Zalma. Stephens Simmers added 26 points, including five 3-pointers.

Esswein won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke for the Crusaders, who finished third.

Ashley Meyer won the 200 freestyle and Shelby Roth claimed the 400 freestyle for Perryville, which placed second. Meyer and Roth also swam legs on the Pirates' victorious 400 freestyle relay.
