Diana Sue Ackman, 62, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Festus, Mo.

Diana was born Dec. 9, 1947, in St. Louis to Emanuel and Edna Mae Haley Lawson. She and Tim Ackman were married Oct. 2, 1982, in St. Louis.

They lived in St. Louis several years, and Diana completed 20 years of employment with the former Soundolier Corp. When they moved to Jackson, she worked at the former LMB Produce in Jackson; worked as a manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken; owned and operated the former Ackman's Craft and Supply; and was previously part owner of the Frontier Restaurant in Fruitland.

Diana and Tim both enjoyed traveling and are former members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Tim of Jackson; a son, Jim and wife Terri Steely of Bonne Terre, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Krista and husband Kyle Allen of Festus, Kasey Steely and her daughter Rylie of St. Louis, Casey Pigg of Bonne Terre; and Corey Pigg of Nashville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Mo.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
