Following a brief speech by U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson about cap-and-trade legislation and health care reform, two Cape Girardeau School District representatives will discuss a $40 million bond issue. Dr. Jim Welker, superintendent of the Cape Girardeau School District, and Adam Kidd, treasurer of the Yes Cape Schools committee, will discuss the bond that would fund a new elementary school, a performance center at Central High School and an event stadium, plus upgrades to existing facilities. The bond is scheduled for a vote during the April 6 election.

The program will begin at 7:35 a.m. at the Show Me Center. A continental breakfast will be available.
