Hazel R. McKimmy of Jackson, formerly of Waterville, Ohio, Federal Way, Wash., and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on her 88th birthday Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010, at Jackson Manor in Jackson. She was born March 3, 1922, in Wichita, Kan., to Arthur and Pearl Beckner Reeves. She married Harold E. McKimmy on Sept. 2, 1944. He preceded her in death Dec. 12, 2007...

Hazel R. McKimmy of Jackson, formerly of Waterville, Ohio, Federal Way, Wash., and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on her 88th birthday Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.

She was born March 3, 1922, in Wichita, Kan., to Arthur and Pearl Beckner Reeves. She married Harold E. McKimmy on Sept. 2, 1944. He preceded her in death Dec. 12, 2007.

Hazel was a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Byron) Cox of Columbus, Lillian (Subir) Lahiri of Kent, Wash., Leonard (Vicki) McKimmy of Tempe, Ariz., and Laura (David) Meece of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings Phyllis Howard and Joe (Lucy) Reeves.

Besides her husband, Harold, Hazel was preceded in death by their 2-year-old son, Harley; her brothers Calvin, Marvin and Eugene; and sister, Fern.

Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Amboy Township Cemetery.
