Students from 26 schools throughout the region will be presenting their projects at the 54th annual Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair Tuesday at the Show Me Center. This year 407 students will participate, the most in at least five years. The top project in the senior division and an alternate will be chosen to advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, Calif. in May, said Wilma Huffman, an administrative assistant with the College of Science and Mathematics at Southeast Missouri State University. Judging begins at 1 p.m., and there will be a reception from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., said Huffman, who helps coordinate the event. Awards will be announced at a ceremony at 7:30 p.m.
