State Auditor Claire McCaskill is requesting information regarding Perry County government.

Every four years, the state auditor's office is required to audit all third- and fourth-class counties. McCaskill said the audit will include all elected offices and will cover policies, procedures, finances, contracts and fulfillment of open meetings requirements.

Anyone with information regarding those issues can contact the state auditor's office at (800) 347-8597.

Perry County Clerk Randy Taylor said the audit is standard procedure that the county is used to.

"Every few years they do this and it's our turn," Taylor said.

"They're here three months, looking through all our records. But we're used to being audited, so it's not a big undertaking for us."

The audit information will be released to the public after the county officials have had an opportunity to respond to any findings.
