Bollinger County man sentenced to five years for several sex charges

A Zalma, Mo., man arrested in September pleaded guilty to the charges against him last week and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Jaramiah Hood, 30, was originally charged with forcible rape, statutory rape, forcible sodomy and statutory sodomy.

Hood appeared and withdrew his plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty.

He waived his presentence investigation.

According to the original probable-cause statement, Hood allegedly physically forced a female victim to have sex with him and perform other sex acts in November 2006.

The victim reportedly stated Hood was aware that at the time she was 13 years old. She said he made threats against her if she told anyone.

The victim also said Hood tried again to sexually assault her when she was 15, but she was able to flee.
