PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ken L. Davis, 79, of Perryville died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1930, in Sturkie, Ark., son of Henry L. and Sylvia Vinson Davis. He and Alma E. Jackson were married Dec. 8, 1951.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Becky Davis; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sue Davis, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Sharon Davis of Olive Branch, Miss.; four grandchildren, Brad (Karen) Abt, Meg (Matt) Davis-Proffer, Rick (Jill) Davis, Rob Davis, all of Cape Girardeau; and four great-grandchildren: Jana, Kimberlee, Isabelle and Ryder.
Mr. Davis was a retired teacher at PHS District 32 and at SVdP Catholic School, and a bus driver for Meyer Busline. He was a member of Perry Promenaders Square Dance Club, charter member of Perryville Elks Lodge 2701, American Legion Post 133 booster member, a real estate agent, active bowler and fisherman. He was of the Baptist belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wilma Hotchkiss.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 am. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
